IONSCAN 500DT
The IONSCAN 500DT fills the growing need of security professionals to have the ability to detect a wide range of substances and to be able to adapt as threats and their needs change. By incorporating two IMS detectors in a single unit, the IONSCAN 500DT is capable of detecting and identifying explosives and narcotics during a single analysis, giving you the ability to detect a broader range of substances while maintaining the high sensitivity and specificity you expect from Smiths Detection.
Building on the success and trusted technology of the IONSCAN family of trace detectors, the IONSCAN 500DT has an ergonomic design and a large, color touch-screen display, built-in printer and 40GB internal hard drive. SABRE 4000
Smiths Detection is proud to introduce the next generation of hand-held trace detectors – the SABRE 4000 – the only portable trace detector that can detect threats from explosives, chemical warfare agents, toxic industrial chemicals or narcotics. The SABRE 4000 can detect and identify over 40 of these threat substances in approximately 15 seconds. With a cold start time of 10 minutes and weighing approximately 7 pounds including the 4-hour battery, the SABRE 4000 is a small, powerful ally in the war on terror and drug trafficking. With the new features such as the 3.5" color TFT display and standard 4-hour battery, the SABRE 4000 is still the smallest, lightest hand-held trace detector available.
A detection using the SABRE 4000 means that traces of a target substance have been found on the item sampled. Proper sample collection is key to the success of any trace detector. The versatile SABRE 4000 is capable of analyzing either trace particle or vapor samples, allowing the operator to apply the ideal sampling technique for the substance suspected.

RADREFLEX 2
The inspection of the border crossing traffic of merchandise and the control of vehicles for illicit goods, especially drugs, cigarettes, explosives and weapons is a prominent task for the customs services. The contraband detector RadReflex checks hollow spaces fast and reliably. The area to be controlled is scanned with a radioactive test source. The radiation is reflected by the good to be measured / contraband. The measuring value is compared with known reference values. Significant deviations from the standard values are a sure indication for the presence of smuggled goods inside the hollow space.
